JOHN SCOTT, GLOUCESTER STREET, LONDON. A LATE 18TH CENTURY THREE TRAIN QUARTER STRIKING INLAID AND ORMOLU MOUNTED MAHOGANY BRACKET CLOCK the 8" painted dial with Roman numerals and outer minute markers, having a strike/silent to the arch and fronting a substantial eight-day fusee three train movement with fully engraved signed backplate, original anchor escapement, quarter striking on eight bells and striking the hours on a single bell. The inlaid cross-banded bell top case with Prince of Wales oval panel, caryatid corners and sunburst sound frets; standing on scrolled leaf cast bracket feet.
