A LATE 17TH CENTURY MONTH DURATION WALNUT MARQUETRY LONGCASE CLOCK, having a caddy top above a pierced sound fret and glazed dial aperture flanked by turned columns on a slender trunk with D-moulded door, floral marquetry and songbird panels on a matching base raised on bun feet. The 12" square brass dial with gilt pierced cherub head spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals surrounding a matted engraved centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture fronting a six-pillar month going weight driven movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking the hours on a bell - brass cased weights and brass bob pendulum.
