STUDIO OF JOHN CONSTABLE (BRITISH 1776-1837). OIL ON CANVAS. A boy paused from thirsty work of herding sheep on a Suffolk Lane. Possibly painted by John Dunthorne Junior. - Provenance. The painting has been in the hands of successive members of the Turner family from circa 1830 til 2014 and hung in Higham Hall, Suffolk. The family have always claimed that the painting was purchased from the studio of John Constable, some 8 miles from the family home.
