ROBERT MATTINGLEY, LONDON. A GEORGE III EBONISED AND GILT BRASS MOUNTED EIGHT-DAY BRACKET CLOCK the seven-inch silvered arched brass dial with florally engraved spandrels enclosing a Roman chapter ring with outer minute markings, signed centre and subsidiary strike/silent and regulation dials to the arch fronting an eight-day chain-driven double fusee repeating the movement with anchor escapement and bell strike; the back plate with engraved border and floral leaf spray centre. The bell-top case with a folding handle and corner finials above glazed sides and mask-head bust floral corner mounts to the front on ogee feet
56cm high, 33.5cm wide, 22cm deep
The case is in good original condition with original embonised finish. No losses to the mounts. The dial is in very nice condition. Movement is original to the case and is in good working condition and striking the correct hours. Originally a verge escapement but now converted to anchor. Looks to have been serviced in recent years.
