HUGH VERNCOMD, BRISTOL. A RARE GEORGE III DOUBLE-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK COACHING CARBINE BLUNDERBUSS having separate steel barrels with flared muzzle and octagonal breeches with Birmingham private proofs and “HV” in the rectangle maker’s mark; the break-off breeches allow the barrels to be individually removed; plain slightly rounded locks with swan-neck cocks, signed 'VERNCOMB' - full walnut stock with chequered grip and brass butt-plate, stout trigger guard with pineapple shaped finial.
