DANIEL DELANDER, LONDON. A SMALL QUEEN ANNE EBONY VENEERED BRACKET TIMEPIECE WITH PULL QUARTER REPEAT the small proportioned case with inverted bell top pediment and hinged gilt brass handle above a glazed gilt moulded door with pierced silk-lined sound frets, matching back door and arched glazed sides. The 4 3/4" arched gilt brass dial with pierced 'Tompion style' scrollwork spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted centre with mock pendulum aperture and applied silvered oval name plaque, the arch with matching regulation dial fronting a single fusee movement with rise and fall verge escapement and pull repeating the quarters on 3 bells, elaborately signed backplate with sprung steel pendulum hold - together with matching wall bracket.

33.5cm high not including handle, bracket 14.5cm high

Daniel Delander, London apprenticed in 1692 to Charles Halstead was admitted to the clockmaker's company in 1699. He was servant to Thomas Tompion. He moved in 1712 from Devereux court to Temple Bar. He was a maker of many fine clocks with equation work, long duration, and also watches. Clocks and watches by him are in many famous museums and collections.
