A CASED PAIR OF 18TH CENTURY SILVER MOUNTED IRISH FLINTLOCK PISTOLS BY EDWARDS, DUBLIN having two-stage barrels with octagonal breeches, each signed along the top flat and stamped, gold-lined touch-holes, signed flat bevelled locks each chiselled and engraved with foliage at the stepped tail, figured walnut full stocks, cast and chased mounts comprising pierced side-plates with strapwork and foliage centred on a draped ledge, border engraved spurred pommels each with grotesque mask cap within a border of linked scallop shells, foliate engraved escutcheons with owner's monogram, trigger-guards each with foliate finial and engraved foliage, all silver hallmarked for Thomas Jones, Dublin. Contained in a baize lined oak case with various tools and powder flask
