JAMES CLOWES, LONDINI FECIT. A FINE WILLIAM AND MARY 10" MARQUETRY INLAID OLIVE AND OYSTERD LABURNUM LONGCASE CLOCK the hood surmounted by a carved winged cherub head pediment above a pierced sound fret and glazed dial aperture flanked by barley twist columns on a slender trunk with D-moulded door, floral marquetry songbird and dolphin panels on a matching base raised on bun feet. The 10" square brass dial with gilt cherub's head spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals surrounding a matted engraved centre with narrow subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, later silvered engraved name plaque covering the original engraved signature fronting a five-pillar eight-day weight driven five pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking the hours on a bell.
