DENT, LONDON. CHRONOMETER MAKER TO THE QUEEN No. 2398. A MID 19TH CENTURY TWO-DAY MARINE CHRONOMETER the three-tier mahogany case containing a gimballed brass bowl containing a 9.5cm silvered engraved dial with Roman chapter ring surrounding two subsidiary dials for seconds and power reserve fronting a chain-driven fusee movement with Harrison maintaining power, Earnshaw-type spring detent, cut bimetallic compensated balance wheel, helical blued steel spring and jewelled end stop - with original numbered tipsy winding key.
