ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN ARNOLD, LONDON AN IMPORTANT REGENCY MONTH DURATION DUAL TIME REGULATOR LONGCASE CLOCK the figured mahogany case with break arch moulded top above a glazed door with recessed panels and reeded brass mounted canted corners on a matching trunk with moulded edge door and box base with raised moulded panel standing on a double plinth. The 14" silvered engraved dial having outer minutes and dual 24-hour dial surrounding subsidiary hours and seconds dials fronting a substantial chamfered plated month duration movement with six double screwed pillars, six-spoke wheels and high pinion count, the deadbeat escapement and Harrison maintaining power all covered by a brass framed glazed dust protector. The pendulum of typical 'Arnold' type with a large rectangular void in the centre of the huge lead-filled brass bob on a large zinc compensated tube - Provenance; Formally located in the Officer's Mess of the Royal Artillery, Woolwich until sold off along with other fixtures and fittings in the 1990s when positioned in the Officer's Mess and regularly included in the visitor's tour of Greenwich Observatory.
