JOSEPH COOPER, WHITCHURCH. A MID 18TH CENTURY EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK, the oak case with protruding moulded cornice above a glazed door on a slender trunk, the moulded edge door with glazed lenticle on box base. The 12" square brass dial has a wheatear engraved border, silvered chapter ring and masked spandrels; the matted centre with crown and thistle engraving has subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture fronting an eight-day weight driven movement with finned knopped pillars and repeat mechanism striking on a bell.
