A FINE LATE 17TH CENTURY 11" MARQUETRY INLAID WALNUT MONTH GOING LONGCASE CLOCK the hood with moulded pediment above a pierced sound fret and glazed dial aperture flanked by barley twist columns on a slender trunk with D-moulded door, floral marquetry and songbird panels on a matching base raised on bun feet. The 11" square brass dial with gilt pierced cherub's head spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals surrounding a matted tulip engraved centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture fronting a five-pillar month going weight driven movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel striking the hours on a bell - brass cased weights and brass bob pendulum.
